Drovers Fall Despite Kennedy’s Career Performance
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (3-6, 2-4 SAC) were dealt a 107-76 loss on the road at John Brown University (7-3, 5-1 SAC).
On Saturday, the Drovers jumped out to an early lead, but the Golden Eagles were able to recover, and the score was tied at 19-19 midway through the first half. However, JBU proceeded to go on an 11-0 run and began to build a comfortable lead. The Golden Eagles continued to knock down shots and took a 49-35 lead into halftime.
Following the break, the Golden Eagles continued to score at a high frequency, outscoring the Drovers 58-41 in the final 20 minutes of the game.
USAO's offense closed the game shooting 25-54 (.463) from the field, 3-14 (.214) from beyond the arc, and 23-29 (.793) from the free-throw line. In comparison, John Brown University shot 39-70 (.557) from the field, 18-37 (.486) from deep, and 11-13 (.846) from the charity stripe.
The Drovers scored 56 points in the paint and hauled in 31 rebounds. In comparison, the Golden Eagles scored 38 points in the paint and grabbed 34 rebounds.
USAO committed 13 turnovers, which led to 25 points for JBU. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles fumbled the ball only six times, resulting in seven points for the Drovers.
USAO was whistled for 13 fouls, while JBU was called for 23 violations.
Ryein Kennedy led the Drovers with the best performance of his career, scoring 30 points on 11-19 shooting from the field. Kennedy also hauled in five rebounds and blocked two shots.
Chok Garang scored a season-high of nine points and went 7-8 at the free-throw line.
Tyler Cauley registered eight points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Jaden Harrell finished with seven points, six rebounds, and three assists, while Tre Edwards added seven points in 15 minutes off the bench.
Mohand Ammad concluded with six points and three rebounds. Cade Allen scored four points, followed by Lendy Holmes with three, and Zach Hays with two.

The Drovers will return to Brisco McPherson Court on Saturday, December 14 as they host a double-header against Wayland Baptist University. The women's game is scheduled to tip-off at 2:00 PM CT, followed by the men's contest at 3:45 PM CT inside Drover Fieldhouse
