
Ellis and Cryer Lead the Drovers at the U.C. Ferguson Classic
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – On Monday and Tuesday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma men's golf team opened the 2024-25 season with a seventh-place finish at the U.C. Ferguson Classic, hosted by Oklahoma City University.

The tournament was competed at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City, and the Drovers completed with a three-round score of 860 (282, 286, 292). The course featured a 6,600-yard, par 71 layout. The tournament featured a loaded field, with nine teams ranked or receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 poll (#3 Texas Wesleyan, #11 Wayland Baptist, #18 Oklahoma City, #24 Bellevue, RV Northwestern (Iowa), RV USAO, RV Kansas Wesleyan, RV Southwestern Christian, RV Park (Mo.)).
Jaeden Ellis and Conner Cryer led the squad and finished in a tie for 11th with identical three-round scores of 210. Ellis fired a pair of 3-under rounds to begin the tournament, followed by a 3-over par on Tuesday. Cryer opened with a 1-under in the first round and a 3-under in the second, followed by a 1-over in the final round.
Cooper Hardison closed in 33rd with a total of 219 (72, 73, 74), followed by Luke O'Dell in 48th with a 223 (72, 74, 77).
Tucker McDonald finished in 54th with a 225 (76, 77, 72), and Parker Pogue placed in 58th with a 227 (72, 77, 78). Tate Trotter was close behind in 59th with a total of 229 (79, 75, 75). Luca Gisler placed in 67th with a score of 235 (81, 79, 75).
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Drovers will return to the course on August 9-10 as they compete at the Texas Intercollegiate. The tournament will be hosted by Texas Wesleyan University at Hawks Creek Golf Course in Westworth Village, Texas.
