Drovers Held Scoreless in Season Opener at LCU

PINEVILLE, La. – Thursday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (0-1, 0-0 SAC) began the 2024 campaign with a tough 4-0 loss at Louisiana Christian University (1-0, 0-0 RRAC). 

The game began with 13 minutes of scoreless action, but LCU managed to take the first lead with an early goal. The Wildcats extended their lead to 3-0 with another goal in the 18^th minute, followed by another in the 30^th minute. LCU maintained a 3-goal lead going into the second half.

Following the break, the Wildcats immediately pushed their lead to 4-0 with a goal less than a minute into the second half. LCU was held scoreless for the remainder of the contest, but USAO was unable to find the back of the net.

As a team, USAO attempted 12 shots, with only one being on goal, while Louisiana Christian attempted nine shots, with six being on target. The Drovers were whistled for eight fouls, while the Wildcats committed 12 infractions.

The Drovers return to the pitch on Saturday, August 24 as they travel to LSU Alexandria. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:30 PM CT in Alexandria, La.
