Pennells Shines as the Drovers Open the Season at Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – Thursday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma opened the 2025 indoor track and field season at the Owen Hewett Invitational, hosted by the University of Oklahoma.  

 

Quintin Pennells earned a podium finish in the men's 200-meter dash, concluding in third place with a blistering time of 22.96. He also cruised to a top 10 finish in the men's 400-meter race. Pennells finished in 9th place with an impressive time of 52.41. 

 

In total, four Drovers completed in the 200-meter dash, led by the bronze result from Pennells. Daylen Huff placed in 31st with a time of 24.32, closely trailed by Hunter DeWall in 37th with a time of 24.58. Colby Keller concluded in 50thwith a time of 25.18. 

 

Daylen Huff and Colby Keller competed in the 60-meter dash, with Huff placing in 54th (7.40) and Keller in 66th(7.54). Hunter DeWall finished in 76th place in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 7.70.

 

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to the track on Saturday, January 25 as they compete at the NAIA/JUCO Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan.
