
Davlakou Scores 23 in Loss to #23 MACU
CHICKASHA, Okla. – Thursday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (14-11, 12-9 SAC) was dealt a tough 75-60 loss on Senior Night against No. 23 ranked Mid-America Christian University (21-4, 17-4 SAC).
With three games remaining in the regular season, the Drovers sit in sixth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. The top eight teams in the conference qualify for the conference tournament, and the top four seeded teams will host the first round, prior to the tournament being moved to Langston University for the semifinals and finals.
On Thursday, the Evangels jumped out to an early 18-7 lead, but the Drovers closed the first quarter on a 9-4 run to trim the deficit to six after 10 minutes of action.
USAO kept the momentum rolling and claimed a 25-24 lead with 6:09 remaining in the half. The Drovers led by as many as five points with 3:42 to play, but the Evangels closed the half on a 10-3 run to take a 34-32 lead going into halftime.
Following the break, MACU's offense stayed hot and outscored USAO 25-13 in the third quarter to take a 59-45 lead into the final 10 minutes of the game. The teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter, with MACU narrowly edging USAO 16-15, to wrap up the win for the Evangels.
USAO's offense closed the game shooting 20-62 (.323) from the field, 5-18 (.278) from beyond the arc, and 15-20 (.750) from the free-throw line. In comparison, MACU shot 27-68 (.397) from the field, 9-29 (.310) from deep, and 12-16 (.750) from the charity stripe.
The Drovers scored 22 points in the paint and hauled in 44 rebounds. In comparison, the Evangels scored 32 points in the paint and grabbed 43 rebounds.
USAO committed 11 turnovers, which led to eight points for MACU. Meanwhile, the Evangels fumbled the ball nine times, resulting in six points for the Drovers.
USAO was whistled for 16 fouls, while MACU was called for 20 violations.
The Drover offense was led by Evangelia Davlakou's 23-point performance. Davlakou shot 9-17 from the field, including 4-8 from three-point range. The point guard also hauled in eight rebounds and dished out three assists.
Alexia Corrales contribiuted 13 points, six rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
Franka Kraus concluded with six points, followed by Ashley Gonzalez and Hannah Harris with five points each. Hannah Harris also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out two assists.
Devynn Harris scored four points, while Davielis Berroa added three points and six rebounds.
Madison Hays corralled six rebounds and blocked two shots.

The Drovers will now hit the road for the remainder of the regular season, beginning with a double-header at Oklahoma City University on Saturday, February 15. The women's game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM CT, followed by the men's game at 3:45 PM CT inside Abe Lemons Arena.
