CHICKASHA, Okla. – Saturday morning, the No. 23 ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-1, 0-0 SAC) got back on track with a 1-0 victory against Louisiana State University Shreveport (2-1, 0-0 RRAC).
In the evenly matched first half, neither team was able to gain an advantage and the score remained 0-0 going into the break.
Following halftime, both teams traded scoring chances, but USAO was able to strike first as Alicia Rey intercepted a pass and found the back of the net in the 68th minute. The Drovers played strong defense in the closing minutes of the game to wrap up the shutout victory.
As a team, the Drovers put three of their nine shot attempts on goal while LSUS put three of their six shots on target. USAO was whistled for 15 fouls, while LSUS was called for 12 violations.
Caitlin Bishop improved her record to 2-1 as she stopped all three shots that came her way, earning her first shutout of the 2023 campaign.

The Drovers will return to action on Tuesday, August 29 when they travel up to Hillsboro, Kan. to face Tabor College. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM CT.
