Drovers Travel to Texas for Mustang Derby

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Thursday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma women's and men's cross-country competed at the Mustang Derby, hosted by Midwestern State University (NCAA DII). 

 

The Drover men finished in eighth place as a team in the 6-kilometer race, led by Aarin Simon in 63rd with a finishing time of 24:37.7. Omario Johnson crossed the line in 66th with a time of 26:07.4, immediately followed by Tyrike Cunningham in 67th with a time of 27:06.7. Hunter Dewall concluded in 70th with a time of 28:07.4, trailed by Daylen Huff in 71st (30:38.3) and Colby Keller in 72nd (32:52.5).

 

The women's team finished in 11th place in the 4-kilometer race, led by Trinity Albao-Cozad in 79th with a time of 18:26.8. Ah'Briana Avery completed the race in 20:33.9 and placed in 87th. Laura Barrios Bardi, Kyli Reser, and Kyra Willett finished back-to-back-to-back in 89th, 90th, and 91st, respectively. Barrios Bardi completes in 23:32.4, followed by Reser in 27:20.1 and Willett in 30:30.1.

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to the course on Saturday, October 12 as they compete at the University of the Ozarks Invitational in Clarksville, Ark.
